For a long time, many international students have been choosing the University of Sherbrooke and Bishop’s University for their studies. After their program is completed, some of them decide to stay in the area for their place of work. Others are only passing by and don’t often get the opportunity to discover the place they study. For those who return to their country, the connection with the Eastern Townships is almost non-existent. For the newcomers, the feeling of belonging to the region of Eastern Townships does not build up easily.
objectives
The main goal of Student Ambassadors of Eastern Townships 2007-2008 project is to develop, in the international students, a better view of the institutions and having this feeling of belonging to the Eastern Townships in order to encourage the development of international connections. Actions interculturelles de développement et d’éducation (AIDE) supports international students from both universities of the area, Sherbrooke and Bishop’s, in this adventure, challenge and experience.

target audience
All international students, registered either at the University of Sherbrooke, or at Bishop’s University, who would like to become an international development agent by putting their abilities and network to good use.
project formula
Student Ambassadors of Eastern Townships 2007-2008 project will occur during the 2007-2008 academic year and take form as a contest. This defy is spread out in a period of approximately 6 months and contains different steps: the contest launching (inscription and information), the area discovery and the twinning with companies period and finally the accomplishment and the official coronation ceremony of the Student Ambassadors of Eastern Townships 2007-2008, attributedto the one who fulfills the contest conditions.
